2008 Hot Wheels Amazoom diecast information
The 1st Brazil Hot Wheels Convention was held on October 11, 2008, at Espaço Vila dos Ipês in São Paulo, Brazil. Organized as a public event, it attracted an estimated 3,000 attendees, according to Mattel.
To commemorate the occasion, the exclusive convention car was a green Amazoom, specially selected to represent Brazil. The model was presented in a clear acrylic display case featuring the 40th Anniversary Hot Wheels logo, marking the brand's milestone year.
Several design options were presented to Marketing and Design, who eventually decided to create a non-licensed version of the stock cars that are popular on the Brazilian racing circuit. Mark Jones took that concept and created Amazoom. The name of the car came from the Amazon River, which runs through the Brazil. Its first deco is based on the Brazilian flag.
